tHis is fully understood, and clearly explained (and also agree with that as I understand your logic now).
I don't know about this, but actual key generators would be easy to create too, unless "keys" are handmade by a random hits. Most companies/programs however always use some kind of keygenerator themselves. In the end (and in the case of GW) they have now clue whether such acccounts are legallly on their server or not. But maybe they have a way around that.

The reason why bots and gold-seller farmers inflate the economy, is that they play solely to farm money without subjecting themselves to the regular money sinks like buying skills, gear, keys, novelties (beer, dye, etc), dud fissure/uw pugs, and so on.
They're generating an artificially high amount of gold, which is funneled down to players who want mainly one thing; obsidian armor and pets. This immensely inflates the ecto and pet market, making ectos and the "good" pets (argue all you want that they're "useless", but they are an achievement) incredibly tough for the average player to obtain.
This is why I think the "it's their money, they can do with it whatever they want" mentality is a bit irritating, since it does affect us legit players to a degree. But I agree that it's not such a big deal in Guild Wars as other games like Lineage 2 and Eve where your wealth translates into pvp strength.

Whats irritating is how you have no idea what you're talking about. The economy is inflating? Ecto is at an all time low in price. Rare skinned items are at an all time low. Black dye is at an all time low.
Since there is no inflation happening, what is if your complaint again?

My point with my post was that gold-farmers earn an artificial high amount of gold which increases the supply of gold, but only to players who purchase it from farmers and players who sell to those who've purchased gold.
I'm not saying it's a huge problem, I'm only defending the fact that gold farmers do cause inflation. You can't deny the fact that they do inject more gold into the economy than your average player.

They aren't increasing the supply of gold. The "new" gold supply is more or less constant, as is the amount of gold leaving the economy through gold sinks. The only time when the total gold supply is affected is when a-net adjusts drop rates or adds character slots or increases storage.
